WFCT 2026: Why Every Window Film Professional Needs to Be in San Antonio This August

If you’ve been on the fence about attending the International Window Film Conference and Tint-Off™ (WFCT) this year, this is your sign to stop sitting on it and start making plans.

I’ve had the chance to sit down with the team behind WFCT 2026 on the Talkin’ Film podcast, and after that conversation, one thing became crystal clear — this isn’t just another trade show. This is the event where the window film industry shows up, connects, competes, and moves forward together. And if you’re a shop owner, an installer, or someone who simply lives and breathes this craft, San Antonio from August 27-29 is exactly where you need to be.

More Than a Trade Show Floor

Barry Atkins, who oversees sponsorships and exhibitor relations for WFCT, put it best when he described the show as a place where you’ll find everyone from CEOs to the installers doing the work every single day — all in the same room, having real conversations.

That’s not something you find everywhere.

Most trade shows feel like walking through a mall. You browse, you take a few brochures, and you head home. WFCT is different. The people who show up are already warm to this industry. They know the products. They know the grind. They’re there because they want to connect with a specific distributor they haven’t worked with yet, find a new film brand that changes how they do business, or simply reinforce the relationships they’ve been building year after year.

As Barry put it — it’s a little bit of old home week, but there’s always someone new walking through the door.

There’s a Place for Everyone Here

One of the things Tricia Lopez, Senior Events Director, kept coming back to is that WFCT is built for everyone — regardless of where you are in your career or how long you’ve been running your shop.

Whether you need marketing strategies, hands-on installation technique, supplier certifications, or a fresh perspective on where this industry is heading — there is a session, a demo, or a conversation at this show that was built for you. The Learning Lab alone brings education directly onto the show floor, open to all registration types, so you can pop in between visiting manufacturers and suppliers without missing a beat.

The key, as Tricia explained, is knowing what you want to get out of it before you walk in the door. Define your personal ROI. Are you there to grow your business? Sharpen your skills? Make connections with suppliers you’ve only ever spoken to on the phone? Once you know the answer to that, the show essentially plans itself around you.

What’s New for 2026

Morgan Schaafsma, who handles marketing communications for WFCT, shared some of the additions to this year’s lineup that have the whole team fired up.

The “Coffee With…” sessions are back and expanding — intimate morning conversations with industry leaders where you can hear their stories, ask real questions, and walk away with insights you won’t find in any seminar room. The keynote this year features Jonathan Brill, and for 2026 the keynote is being split specifically to target the window film industry on its own. The message from the team was simple — the future is coming, and this session is designed to get you ready for it.

And then there’s Family Day. This is brand new for 2026, and honestly, it might be the most exciting addition on the calendar. On Saturday, families are invited to bring their kids onto the show floor for a hands-on experience with the craft — think fun activities, demonstrations, and the kind of memories that plant a seed in the next generation of this industry. If you’ve got kids who have ever asked what you actually do for a living, this is your moment to show them.

The Competitions Are Worth Every Minute

If you’ve never stopped to watch a tint competition in person, you’re missing something that’s genuinely hard to describe until you see it.

Sarah Bauder, WFCT’s competition coordinator, called it exhilarating — and that’s exactly right. The moment the timer starts, it’s like the Kentucky Derby. Every competitor is doing what they do every single day back at their shop, but now they’re doing it on the biggest stage in the industry, against the best in the world, with a crowd watching every move.

Since Tricia stepped away from running the competitions, they’ve nearly doubled in size — from 2 competitions and roughly 100 competitors to 5 competitions and nearly 200. That growth is a direct reflection of how fast this industry is moving and how seriously people are taking their craft.

And here’s what the competitions actually give back to the industry beyond the trophy and the prize money. Competitors go home more detail-oriented, more vigilant, and consistently better than when they arrived. The tools being used on that competition floor today are often the tools that end up on the market next year. The innovation that comes out of watching the best in the business push each other quietly raises the standard for everyone, including the shop owners and installers who never competed at all.

Plan Now — Seriously

Tricia said it plainly, and it’s worth repeating: plan now.

Pre-registration pricing is available, and after August 15th the rates go up. There are promo codes on the WFCT website right now that can get you $100 off most registration types. The host hotel is right across from the convention center with discounted room rates available through August 3rd. San Antonio is easy to get in and out of, and the show itself is set up so that no matter which direction you turn on that floor, there’s something worth your time.

This industry has grown from a niche specialty into a billion-dollar space, and WFCT has been at the center of that growth for decades. The community is here. The competitions are loaded. The education is deeper than it’s ever been. And San Antonio in August is going to be the place where this industry shows up and does what it does best.

Don’t miss it.
